Skin Tags

Skin tags are harmless and common lesions, which appear to ‘hang’ off the skin, and are found in both men and women as they age.  They range in size from 1mm to 5cm and can be skin colored or slightly darker.  Tags are most commonly found in skin folds such as the neck, armpits and groin.  When small and not causing problems, skin tags are generally left alone.  However, they can be easily removed for cosmetic reasons or if they become large, itch and are painful – most are extracted with cryotherapy (freezing), surgical excision or scissoring, electrosurgery and laser surgery.
